Hiroyuki Tomura
Born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.
Underwater photographer who has been touring the world’s oceans and photographing a variety of underwater landscapes from large marine creatures to small ones.
His works, which are conscious of the dynamism and colors of living creatures, have been published mainly on the web, in diving magazines and camera magazines, and have been used in product catalogs of camera manufacturers.
As his life’s work, he has been photographing Japanese warships and aircraft lying on the seafloor in various locations of the world, which originated in World War II (the Greater East Asia and Pacific War), and his coverage continues to be serialized as popular content in the general military magazine, “Maru” monthly.
He has written and lectured extensively.
