Kotaro Yamafune

Underwater archaeologist.
Graduated from Texas A&M University Graduate School in 2016 with a Ph.D., the world’s premier research institution in underwater archaeology, which uses sunken ship remains to understand and study the state of trade between civilizations and the technological level of those civilizations.
He specializes in archaeology and history with a focus on Western ships (ancient, medieval, and modern), as well as 3D surveying of underwater cultural heritage (Digital 3D Recording) and ship reconstruction.
Currently, while continuing his research as one of the few experts in this field, he has been requested by various research institutes around the world to support excavations and academic research on underwater ruins.
